So I was browsing the test knit group on Ravelry.com, and came across a new pattern that needed to be tested.
Type 'N Swipe Mittens by betheany. It's one of those "WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT FIRST?"
I started yesterday, at Needleworks in Champaign Illinois, at about 11:15. (where I met a bunch of awesome ladies, and spent five hours chatting and hanging out with them!)
I finished the second one about 20 minutes ago. I have a new love for mittens. I hate socks. But I love mittens!
They look like plain simple mittens
attempting a picture with one hand...
Surprise! I can poke my thumb and finger through!
Cause I did not want to miss that text! :)
This is definetely a pattern I will be doing again. I want to play around with sizing and possibly leave out the left hand holes, since I text primarily with my right hand.
Remember that yarn I spun last week during my snow day? This is what I knit it up into.
If you look closely you can see the fish swimming around the yarn overs.
I named this scarf "Other Fish in the Sea"
It makes me :)
About Me
- luganknitter
- Illinois, United States
- I am a band director at five private schools in Kankakee. Music is a big part of my life, but knitting and crafting are right up there too. I own a ridiculous stash of yarn, which I am slowly using... and replacing with better yarn... I tend to knit and crochet a lot, in class, out of class, while watching tv, while driving, pretty much constantly. I have been involved with crochet romantically for 15 years, and involved with knitting for 11 years. They sometimes get jealous of each other. I think its funny. Along with knitting and crocheting, I quilt, spin (drop spindle) and design patterns!!

I love the fish beads on that scarf! They almost look like yarny 'slubs' or whatever you call them from a distance because they match the yarn really well.
Those mittens are pretty awesome too ,I might have to make some for myself next winter!
